Losing weight isn’t always an easy task. Typically, it is because we over-complicate our intricate bodies and do not place enough trust in ourselves to carry us through. If you have had difficulty losing weight, start with reading these 3 easy steps. There is also an infographic for you to Pin and save for later to look back on.
1. Cut Sugar and Limit Carbs
It’s no surprise that sugar is highly addictive. If you can cut it out, you will eventually stop craving the nastiness that it drowns you in. While I would not advise you to cut out carbohydrates completely, if you are looking to lose weight quickly, cut back on carbs and leave out things such as bread, pasta, and white rice. Focus instead on complex carbs such as sweet potatoes and whole grains.
2. Eat Protein, Fat, and Vegetables
Protein is incredible when it comes to weight loss. It helps to build muscle and it helps keep you fuller longer. Try to eat protein with every meal. Also, a good fat will not make you fat. Because fats are high in calories, just be mindful of your portion sizes. Focus on oils, fish, avocados, and nuts. Of course don’t forget your vegetables. Aim to fill half of your plate with vegetables while you are trying to lose weight.
Last but certainly not least, lift your weights. You cannot be afraid to lift heavy and build muscle. Muscle is what will speed up your metabolism and help your body to burn more calories, even at rest. You need to lift a weight that challenges you, makes you sweat, but allows for you to get a solid 8-12 repetitions in for about 3 rounds. You don’t want it to be too heavy that it breaks your form, but a lightweight won’t change much. Try to lift weights three times a week and do HIIT training or cardio another 3 times a week. Remember, consistency is key here. Eat right and train hard and you will see progress before you know it.
